The black stray cat, Archie, who has been living on out porch since last winter seems to have moved in. We had a wet and nasty weekend and Archie, who has come in to steal food from time to time, decided that he preferred the dry cellar to the wet and rainy outdoors. He waits at the top of the cellar stairs (there's a cat door in the cellar), and when we open the door, he runs in and eats from the cat bowls. He spent most of Sunday running around the house and annoying cats. He sometimes asks to go out or down the cellar stairs, but he comes right back.
We have to get him fixed soon or he will go off chasing a scent and we'll never see him again. He spits, however, when we get too close. He does not know about petting even though he watches the other cats sit on my lap and snuggle with Erica.
I was supposed to get up early this morning, catch him in a cage and take him to the vet. That's too much for me on a Monday morning - maybe next Monday.
In the mean time Archie is being cute. He loves playing with cat toys and he bumps his head against all the cats, much to their utter discust. He is reverting back to a kitten which is part of the domestication process. I hope that soon he will let us touch him.
I have a camera full of pictures, but the same old story - no way to upload them. Optonline.com had lowered their prices, but they went back up when AOL made the announcement about their desktop being free. Verizon will be in competition for cable TV in Clarkstown (where I live) and that should lead to some kind of price war. The problem with Verizon is that they have to dig a trench to do the install, and I don't want that.
